چکیده

Long-term follow-up is described of seven patients with fistulae between a coronary artery and the right atrium or right ventricle. Left-to-right shunt flow ranged from minimal to 2.2:1. Of six patients followed 33k to 17 years (average 10) without operation, five demonstrated symptomatic, electrocardiographic, hemodynamic, and angiographic stability. In the sixth patient, a second angiographic study, performed 15 years after the first one, showed the right coronary artery to be occluded proximal to its fistulous communication with the right ventricle, and a left-to-right shunt could no longer be detected. Four of the seven patients underwent operative closure of a fistulous opening into the right atrium, and all four have been restudied postoperatively. Right heart pres-

Coronary Artery Fistulae Discovered during Presentation of a Patient Having Heart Failure due to Severe Aortic Stenosis

Introduction. Coronary artery fistulae (CAF) are rare defects with abnormal communication between a coronary artery with either a cardiac chamber or another vascular structure, bypassing the myocardial capillary network. We report a rare multiple arterial coronary fistulae with drainage to the right pulmonary artery. Case Presentation. A 56-year-old male was brought to our hospital for work-up ...

The anatomic variability of coronary arterial fistulae termination in the right and left atria.

Ten cases of fistulae between a coronary artery and either the right or left atrium have been studied. Pertinent material from a review of the Literature supplements the clinical analysis. The major finding is the anatomic variability of the fistula site, with three primary patterns of communication evident for both right and left atrial termination. These anatomic findings become relevant to (...

Successful transcatheter closure of bilateral multiple coronary arterial fistulae in one session

Coronary artery fistulae represent the most frequent congenital anomalies of the coronary arteries, but multiple bilateral fistulae are a rare condition. Current therapeutic options for symptomatic patients are percutaneous closure and cardiac surgery. Transcatheter closure of fistulae using coils is preferred as an effective and safe alternative to surgery. Here we report the case of a patient...

Bilateral Coronary Pulmonary Artery Fistulae.

Coronary cameral fistulae are rare and bicoronary pulmonary artery fistulae is even rarer. This is a case of a 70 year old male who presented to us with complaints of chest pain and dyspnoea. His ECG showed ST-T changes in inferior and anterior precordial leads suggestive of ischaemia in those territories. His coronary angiogram revealed bilateral coronary pulmonary arterial fistulae arising fr...

Congenital aneurysmal circumflex coronary artery fistula in a pregnant woman

Coronary artery fistula (CAF) is an abnormal communication between an epicardial coronary artery and a single or multiple cardiac chambers, large vessels or other vascular structures (1). Although it is a rare condition, it is the most frequent congenital coronary anomaly (2), and it accounts for 0.2-0.4% of congenital cardiac anomalies. Approximately 50% of pediatric coronary vasculature anoma...
